IT IS THE BRICKYARD 400 WEEKEND!!!

‘Thousands of fans from our area go every year. It is a tradition for families and fans to go to this race” said KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS Racing Expert Scott Douglass. Both Douglass and show Host Craig Hoffman take an extensive look at the race including comments from Hoosier Ryan Newman. The Purdue graduate remembers sneaking into the track to witness the first ever NASCAR testing at the historic Brickyard.

Also this week on Kentuckiana Motorsports, John Mears with the Lucas Oil Pro pulling league weighs in on the Brickyard. Mears talks about the national Pro Pulling League which is sponsored by Lucas Oil.

Two local tracks host action this weekend including the Sportsdrome and Bluegrass Speedway. Next weekend Salem Speedway features racing, crashes, and explosions at Tricky Travelstead visits the High Banks of Salem. A breakdown of all events this week on KMS.

And when watching, race fans can learn how they can win FREE tickets to the Indy Car Race and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Race at the Kentucky Speedway Labor Day weekend.

It’s a week away, the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard. “Thousands of fans from our area will be there” said Kentuckiana Motorsports Racing Expert Scott Douglass. This week on Kentuckiana Motorsports Presented by Lucas Oil a look at the fun, drivers, and fanfare leading up to the historic race. It includes Sprint Cup driver comments from both Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer.

Despite the hot weather there is local track racing this weekend. The Sportsdrome has a full slate of racing. Bluegrass Speedway is off due to the Nelson County Fair, and Salem Speedway isn’t back in action until later this month. Still, fans will get a look at all the upcoming action at these tracks.

Owen Funeral Home is a longtime sponsor of KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS. This week Dave Owen is a special guest along with Sam Swope and Kirk Carter. All three are with the Kosair Shrine Temple. They’ll talk about the huge 2010 San Swope Road Rally that takes place Sunday at the Swope Auto Mall on Hurtsbourne Parkway in Louisville. Registration opens at 10:00. KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS is a fast paced thirty minute show where show host Craig Hoffman and racing expert Scott Douglass breakdown the latest racing news in NASCAR, Indy Car Series, ARCA, and at local tracks. Hoffman is a veteran award winning broadcaster with extensive experience covering racing on all levels. He’s also a host for the popular Louisville LIVE This Morning show on WBKI-TV. Douglass is a former track manager and serves as track announcer at both the Kentucky and Iowa Speedway’s. Douglass has covered a variety of racing for television and radio. And for the past two decades he’s announced Monster Jam on SpeedTV and CBS.


Since it started in 2002, some of the biggest racing stars have visited the set of KENTUCKIANA MOTORSPORTS. The show features extensive interviews and action from local and regional tracks. Fans are invited to sound-off and take part in special polls and giveaways.
